I'm trying really hard on this project to keep things matchy matchy!
If you click on the photo you can see that I didn't pick out green thread for my stems and leaves, but a shade of light brown.
No purple either - it's more a deep burgundy merlot.
The pink is more of a fuschia.
The trick is to pull out a single strand of thread and lay it on your applique.
The single thread is the actual amount of the colour you will use on your project.
I saw Pat Sloan do this and am really glad I did because NONE of the green threads were working for me!
This Friday Pat Sloan will post the next step.
This week I pieced together a 40 inch square backing.
The pink is from Granny's stash, the purple with pansies came from my sister.
