Starting Fresh for Spring
>> Thursday, April 7, 2011
I finally made time to make my April banner for the blog!
Working outside of the home has really challenged me to use my quilting time to my best advantage.
It has really made me think about why I blog and what I want to continue blogging about!
DESIGNING
I love designing new things. This liberated churn dash has been so much fun to create. The quilt is progressing nicely, though slowly, and I am so excited that it will live at my house on MY bed!Click here for my Liberated Churn Dash Tutorial

SHARING FRIENDSHIPS
SHARING FRIENDSHIPS
I have been so fortunate to 'meet' so many talented, wonderful, giving quilters and fibre artists through my blog.
When I first started blogging I won lots of giveaways and really enjoy that aspect of blogging! Don't you?!?;)
Now I am lucky enough to join other quilters in hosting giveaways. This pillow was the project I made using Kay Mackenzie's newest applique book for Kay's second Book-A-Round.
You can read my post here -
and be sure to visit Kay's very informative blog too.
LEARNING NEW TECHNIQUES
Through blogging I discovered the Block Lotto last year. I have learned so many new techniques, and been very inspired by the other quilters who join in each month. The Block Lotto has helped me try new things without the pressure of making a whole quilt and, who knows, maybe I'll win some blocks one day! I would love to win a set of this month's Modern Clover. Check out the blog to see some creative settings quilters are playing with as they make their blocks for the month.
THIS BLOGGER IS LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK!
I really enjoy blogging and sharing my latest projects and finds with you.
I'd like to know what kind of posts you like to see when you click on my blog.
What makes you stay and read? What makes you click away and wait for another day?
I know your time is precious too. With my computer STILL away waiting for a part that got lost coming over the border{!!!} I have had little time to look around my favourite blogs. I finally did today and am feeling CONNECTED again.
Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts with me today.
{There just might be a little giveaway for those who comment on this post.}
With Joy,

I hope you DO win some lotto blocks one day ... you explained the mission of the block lotto perfectly--to have fun, make a few blocks, be part of a community and try something new once in a while.
I like seeing the process. Yes, it is wonderful to see beautiful finishes but they are even more beautiful when quilter's explain how they got there - what they changed about the pattern, how they designed it, etc... I think you talk about your quilt process very well.
You also do great tutorials for projects that any skill level can enjoy.
You also have great giveaways too.
But hey, I might be a little biased (being your sister). Just glad you still find some time to quilt AND blog. Maybe we will have to have a quilt day this summer. Mom and dad can take the kids and spoil them.
I like seeing all the different things you are working on or have finished. It gives me ideas on how I might want to finish something, I also like seeing the new things you are doing, like the liberated churn dash, and I like the links to other blogs I might not know about!
Thanks!

I love seeing the different blocks you are working on and when you put them on your design wall.
