A couple of weekends ago now I took out the last of my batting.
I cut pieces for several of my little mini quilts that are piling up.
Top right is my Follow your Bliss makealong top. It's almost ready for backing.
My mini bars quilt is made up of leftovers from the Folk Art Garden quilt, shown in the top photo, and backing fabric cut from my string quilt. Only the purple borders are 'fresh' cuts.
The setting was inspired by this quilt displayed in a photo shoot of one of the quilt stores in a recent issue of Quilt Sampler. This photo is my blurry copy of the beautiful magazine shot.
The issue: Fall/Winter 2011. Does that make my quilt the second one I've made from a Quilt Sampler issue?LOL! {Folk Art Garden is my first - the pattern is from a 1998 issue!}
There was enough batting to give this little quilt some too.
The reason I was measuring batting? I wanted to make two of these sleeves! I had enough and then some, as you can see. This is a larger version of the Bookkeeper tutorial from the Moda bakeshop.
Time to cut some backings - and restock my batting!
With Joy,
Sarah Vee
