Making for Christmas

>> Friday, November 16, 2012

First things first, I finished this wallhanging for ME! I used up a lot of small Christmas fabric scraps, cutting them into 2 1/2 inch squares. My plan is to add buttons to it so I can hang some handmade ornaments from it and enjoy it in my sewing space.

I have started making Christmas gifts too. I won't be showing them all here as some of the people receiving them read my blog! This is a reversible bag for one of my nieces. It's from a free pattern from American Patchwork and Quilting a few years ago. Reversible Purse.

I did add a pocket to each side. I used the cut off curve and was careful to place it at least 1 1/2 in and over from the right hand edge. My daughter thinks this is a great addition. It would hold an iPod or any other little gadget a girl can think of!

This is a sneaky peek {kind of} of a gift. I HAD to use up the selvages and made these. . . potholders?!? The seam allowance ended up taking some of the size away from these, but they are still around 7 - 8 inches in size. Regardless, they have the cute factor on their side!

One more 'test project' for me! I made one of Lori Holt's cups of cocoa and I love it! I got to fussy cut some favourite fabric and make myself a new little mug rug. It's about 6 1/2 inches square. I think this is a definite MAKE for teacher gifts this year. Cute Cups of Cocoa.

HO HO HO
Have a Jolly fun weekend,

Sarah Vee
