Ready, Set, Stitch!
Welcome to the beginning of the Follow Your Bliss Makealong!
I hope you enjoy the journey. Use what you want, share what you make, check out what other people create too.
To start I have put up the Inspiration Words. You can download and print them out right from this post.

CLICK HERE FOR A new version of this as I the original no longer loads! The girl is smaller in the new one, but you could also changeup the size of the figure on yours.
I traced the words onto a 10 x 10 piece of light blue cotton fabric and used some of Granny’s embroidery floss to stitch the words.
You can stitch the words too or use them to inspire another creation.
{My second makealong piece will use these words cut out of fabric on a larger wallhanging.}
**If you want to makealong with me and not do the embroidery, you can use a 12 inch quilt block in place of the stitching panel. I will be adding a small border, then some quilt blocks around it next**
If you are new to embroidery, have no fear! There are lots of resources out there to help you make pretty stitches. For these words, I used a very common/popular/simple stitch called the Stem Stitch. I was introduced to it with Pat Sloan’s Happiness Key Mystery quilt. {Which I’m not done stitching yet!}
Here are 3 links to embroidery stitches for you:
Bari J.‘s newest blog, we love french knots, where she is starting to show how-to videos for different stitches
Sharon Boggon’s stitch dictionary
Please feel free to add more links in the comments if you have a favourite embroidery blog or video to share.
I will share more of my process this week and host a linkup too.
With Joy,
Sarah Vee
