I made this pillow several years ago using one of my husbands’ old dress shirts. I challenged myself to make somethinig with hearts that was modern and masculine.

I made the selvage hearts using my Pockets of Love pattern – available to my newsletter subscribers.

Last Valentine’s I played with this idea of using 2 1/2 inch strips to make points around the heart.
As you can see, over time the points got bent and twisted.

This year I went back to the men’s shirt idea and incorporated the floating heart concept.
This time my points are prairie points!

This time I used prairie points! No raw edges to worry about.

Here’s the back. I kept the button panel as an easy way to remove the cover. The pocket is still there too – a good place for the remote?

Take some time to make a pillow – modern, masculine, with or without hearts!
